Maren Kilmer
Violist Maren Kilmer is a music instructor at Moore Brothers Music, where she teaches viola, violin, and piano lessons. Within Maren’s teaching, she aims to advocate, educate, and inspire her students by creating an open and safe learning environment where they can take risks, be curious, and create their own music.
Previously, Maren has had experience teaching viola and violin at Yakima Music en Acción, an afterschool nonprofit music program in the Yakima school district. She taught students in elementary, middle, and high school in groups large and small.
Growing up, Maren played viola with the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra, the Bellevue Youth Symphony Orchestra, and took lessons. She then continued to study music at Central Washington University (CWU) where she studied viola performance with Dr. Michelle Rahn. During her time at CWU, she completed two solo recitals and has played viola with the Mid-Columbia Symphony.
Maren holds a BA in Viola Performance, a Nonprofit Organization minor, and a Professional Writing Certificate from Central Washington University. She will continue to pursue her passion and career in sharing music with others by teaching and performing.
