Devin Gaylord has been privately teaching since 1999 and is passionate about making the lessons fun and inspiring. He has performed in various groups including the Seattle Youth Symphony, the Bellevue College Big Band, The Humidiflyers, The Good Luck Number (his original rock bands) and Queen Annes Revenge (a classic-rock cover band).
Being from the local area, Devin was educated at Bellevue High School and Bellevue College where he received his diploma and associates degree with a concentration in music. Most of his music education however has been privately and included private instructors who have worked for the Seattle Symphony and the University of Washington.
Devin has preformed at popular venues as well as provided support for famous acts. He has shared the stage with performers such as Collective Soul, Morrissey, Grace, and Stolen Ogre. He has toured the west coast and the rockies, performed in France, Germany, and Hawaii, and has done session work in New York and Seattle.
He offers lessons for Double Bass, Bass Guitar, Cello, Violin, Viola, Piano/Keyboards, Guitar, Banjo, and Ukulele. He is also experienced with music technology, synthesizer programming, and studio recording/production techniques.
Devin caters his lessons to the individual client allowing them to focus on any particular style or direction that they choose. He is patient and works well with beginners but can also offer insight for the more advanced player. Performance, music theory, technique, practice, experimentation, composition, and improvisation are all concepts that receive focus during lessons.
