Susan E. Bloomfield is an experienced teacher, pianist, harpsichordist, organist, vocalist, and choral conductor. She received her Bachelor of Music degree in Organ Performance with an emphasis on Choral Conducting from Pacific Lutheran University where she studied with David Dahl, James Holloway, Kathryn Habedank, and Richard Sparks. Susan received her Master of Music in Music History from Western Washington University where she wrote her Master’s thesis on Elizabeth Stirling, a female organist and composer in Victorian England.
In addition to studio teaching, Susan has taught music at South Puget Sound Community College and The Evergreen State College in Olympia and is often asked to lead masterclasses in early vocal and keyboard music.
Ms. Bloomfield is also trained in the application of music and healing and is a sound therapy practitioner. Because of her training in classical and healing music, Susan is uniquely qualified to teach those with performance or generalized anxiety, ADD/ADHD, and those on the Autism spectrum.
